New Patient Guide & What to Expect

Welcome to Deep Waters Psychiatry & Wellness
I’m honored that you’re considering partnering with me for your care. My practice is built on a calm, patient-centered approach where your story, your experiences, and your individual needs guide each step of the process. This page will walk you through what to expect as a new patient so you can feel comfortable, informed, and supported from the very beginning.

  • Begin by visiting the Get Started page.
You will receive instructions to create your patient portal, where you will complete required intake forms and set up a card on file through Tebra.

  • All new patients must complete their intake forms before the first appointment.
This includes basic history, current concerns, consent forms, and practice policies.
Forms are completed electronically in the patient portal.

  • Your initial evaluation is 60–90 minutes and focuses on understanding:

    • Your current symptoms

    • Your personal history

    • What you are experiencing day-to-day

    • Your goals and what you want help with

We will discuss an initial treatment plan, which may include integrative recommendations or medication if appropriate.

This visit is collaborative and conversational—you do not need to prepare anything special

    • Complete all intake forms

    • Upload your ID and insurance card (if applicable)

    • Add a card on file in Tebra

    • Bring a list of current medications/supplements

    • Join your appointment on time (in-person or telehealth)

  • If ongoing care is a good fit, we will schedule follow-up visits.

Follow-up appointments are 20–55 minutes and focus on:

    • Monitoring progress

    • Adjusting the treatment plan

    • Addressing any questions or concerns

Frequency varies based on your needs.

  • You may send non-urgent questions through the patient portal.
All messages come directly to me, and I respond personally.

Please note: while I am committed to providing accessible and thoughtful support, ongoing or frequent communication that requires significant time outside scheduled sessions may need to be addressed during a follow-up appointment.
This ensures that your concerns receive the time, attention, and clinical care they deserve.

For emergencies, please call 911, 988, or go to the nearest emergency room.

  • At this time, the practice is self-pay, and all payments are processed through Tebra.
A credit card on file is required.

    I am actively credentialing with:

    • Aetna

    • Anthem BCBS

    • Cigna

    • UnitedHealthcare / Optum

    • UMR

    • Colorado Medicaid

You may request a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement

  • As a small, independent practice, all care is provided directly by me.
    This means:

    • Consistent communication

    • A personalized, flexible care experience

My approach is thoughtful, integrative, and individualized—always centered on what works best for you.
